Brian Davis's fascination with weather began at just four years old. While most children were outside playing, Brian was looking to the sky, watching storms roll across the horizon and wondering what the weather would do next.

His love for weather was shared by his family. Brian's mother and grandfather were both fascinated by changing weather, and whenever thunderstorms approached, they would stand together on the front porch watching the skies. Those moments sparked a lifelong passion that eventually became his career.

Like many young weather enthusiasts, Brian was captivated by The Wizard of Oz. The famous tornado scene fueled his curiosity even further and inspired him to learn everything he could about severe weather.

That childhood curiosity became a lifelong calling.

Before pursuing meteorology, Brian earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronics Communications, providing a strong technical foundation that has complemented his career in broadcast weather. He later followed his lifelong passion for weather by completing the Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University and earning a Bachelor of Science in Operational Meteorology from the University of Tennessee. He continued expanding his expertise through graduate-level studies in Applied Meteorology while building his forecasting career.

One of the defining moments of Brian's career came on May 22, 2011, while serving as a meteorologist at KOAM-TV in Joplin, Missouri. As the devastating EF5 tornado struck the community, Brian helped provide continuous severe weather coverage, using live television, social media, and emerging streaming technology to deliver critical, life-saving information during one of the deadliest tornadoes in modern U.S. history. His innovative use of digital communication during the disaster earned him an invitation from the National Weather Association to speak about how social media and new technology can help save lives during severe weather emergencies.

Serving West Tennessee

With more than 26 years of forecasting experience, Brian has spent his career helping communities prepare for changing weather. For 11 years, Brian served West Tennessee as a trusted television meteorologist, earning the confidence of viewers through accurate forecasts, calm severe weather coverage, and a deep understanding of the region's unique weather patterns.

West Tennessee has weather unlike anywhere else. From the Mississippi River to the Tennessee River, the region's rivers, rolling hills, and changing terrain create unique forecasting challenges that demand local knowledge and constant attention. After more than a decade forecasting for the region, Brian understands those weather patterns firsthand.

Building West TN Weather Channel

While continuing to serve viewers on local television, Brian began working toward a vision he had carried for years.

He believed West Tennessee deserved a weather service dedicated entirely to weather—not limited by scheduled newscasts or regular programming.

His goal was simple: create a place where families could find trusted forecasts, live radar, and continuous severe weather coverage whenever they needed it.

Working behind the scenes for several years, Brian built West TN Weather Channel from the ground up.

In 2025, that vision became reality when the channel officially launched to the public as the only locally owned and operated 24/7 streaming weather network dedicated exclusively to West Tennessee.

For a period, Brian continued serving viewers on local television while simultaneously growing West TN Weather Channel. In January 2026, he made the decision to devote his full attention to the network he had envisioned—allowing him to serve all 21 counties of West Tennessee with around-the-clock weather coverage.

Today, West TN Weather Channel delivers trusted forecasts, live radar, neighborhood SkyCams, severe weather coverage, and real-time weather information across Roku, YouTube, Facebook, the web, and streaming platforms.

More than 26 years after standing on the front porch watching storms with his mother and grandfather, Brian's mission remains unchanged:
